A turn of the page and the next chapter for the Governor’s place began when the home was sold to the family of Mr. and Mrs. William Hall. The family was moving from New Jersey and found the home and fell in love with it immediately. The family spent 40 years together in this wonderful location.

When the siblings inherited the property their memories and experiences were far too great to let the property go. The idea was hatched that the remaining family could keep and maintain the property, all the while sharing its beauty with others, through its transformation to a beautiful country inn. Hence the idea was hatched! Today the Governor’s Place carries the memories of two families that worked and lived “happily ever after” as they say, and it sits ready to share its history and future with all guests. It is the hope of the family to preserve this location in its current state. Any profits from the Governor’s Place are used to maintain and expand the beauty of the home and the grounds. So look for changes yearly as the Governor’s Place strives to provide for others the tranquility and wonderful experiences that were shared by others for the last 75 years.
